About us
Welcome to Swe Garden, a design studio led by garden architect Lisa Rulff.
Swe Garden blends Scandinavian garden architecture with the rhythm of nature. Our vision is to create beautiful, sustainable, and vibrant outdoor environments. We design gardens where people, birds, bees, and butterflies can thrive.
We make outdoor plans, present material and plant lists, perform plant inspections, create maintenance plans, and offer garden consultations.
We support your project from idea to reality.
Swe Gardens latest project
-Musikantens Pre school
Musikantens pre school was a collaboration with CASA architect firm.
You are never to young to learn! At this pre school the theme is nature and music. The kids can learn about growing plants from seeds in the raised up beds or host a concert at the mini stage. There is a playful mini kitchen and a waterfall fetcher when they wanna get extra messy. The backyard is surrounded by notes and figurines playing instruments.
Of course are all materials natural and sustainable.

Inspired by nature
With nature as our inspiration, Swe Garden creates beautiful gardens that require less and give more. There are many advantages to choosing Swe Garden for your next garden project.
Both you and the environment will benefit from.
We listen to your needs and wishes
Though blending your personal needs with our vision, we will create a unique outdoor space that you will thrive in.
We have great plant knowledge
When hiring us you will avoid expensive and heavy mistakes in garden maintenance. When you pick the right plants for the micro climate you get a garden that thrives, performs better, gives more need less from you.
We use water as a resource.
By using low points in the landscape, creating rain gardens, or directing surface runoff toward planting beds, we can make the most of the water. This reduces pressure on pipes and treatment plants, decreases flooding, and creates a buffer for plants during dry periods.
Biodiversity is a must
Variation doesn’t just create a beautiful and interesting outdoor environment — it also makes a garden more resilient to diseases and pests. Trees have a profoundly positive impact on both people and the environment. They clean the air and absorb stormwater, provide shade and wind protection, and offer food and shelter for birds and insects. Trees are a natural carbon sink. Take good care of your trees.

About Lisa- The Garden Designer
My earliest memories is from running around in my parents garden in the archipelago in southern Sweden, picking strawberries and chasing butterflies. Every project I design reflects my roots and my lifestyle. I have always had a passion for everything that grows. Later I studied to become a Master gardener and I´ve also studied esthetics. My other passion in life- colors and shapes.
As a garden designer I get to work with two of my passions in life, designing, drawing and everything green.
I have a background in cultural gardens and a strong Scandinavian esthetic. Since 2010 I have been creating unique, personal and functional outdoor spaces for associations, private and public clients.
I am a down to earth, energetic and “the glass is always half full” type of garden designer.
I am married to my very own Minnesotan and we just moved back here with our teenaged daughter after 15 years abroad.
Now I cant wait to mix my Scandinavian roots with the Minnesotan landscape.
